General Summary:

The supervisor is responsible for their department activities in compliance with policy, procedure, Medicaid standards, contract requirements, CARF accreditation, and the Mental Health Code.  The supervisor works closely with all supervisors within the clinical care division.  They will ensure exceptional customer services to consumers, stakeholders, staff, providers and community members.  They will provide on-going training and supervision to staff and ensure staff are competent to perform the duties within the department.  The supervisor is expected to collaborate effectively with all levels of the organization, lead others, drive results, proactively identify and resolve problems and make challenging decisions. 

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for ensuring the day to day functions of the department are assigned and completed.
  • Responsible for daily oversight of staff schedules, including on-call and holiday schedules and providing coverage when short staffed
  • Review documentation submitted by staff to ensure they comply with standards.
  • Promote team work
  • Provide training and supervision weekly
  • Monitor Key Performance Indicators (productivity, unsigned documents, training requirements, etc)
  • Monitor budget and manage expenses.
  • Review staff performance, develop performance improvement plans as needed
  • Work at both Jackson and Hillsdale sites as required to ensure department needs are met
  • Prepare for audits both internally and externally on an ongoing basis
  • Provide back up to Clinical Director as needed and provide supervisor coverage to other departments as needed
  • Review policies and procedures and submit any necessary changes, at a minimum of Annually
  • All other duties needed to ensure the clinical care division runs effectively and efficiently. 

Required Education/Certification/Licensure:

  • Master's degree in Human Services field with appropriate licensure with the State of Michigan
  • Ability to be credentialed as a Mental Health Professional according to Michigan PIHP/CMHSP Provider Qualifications
  • Must have reliable transportation*
